About the role
The Limestone Coast Local Health Network is seeking a Nurse Unit Manager (RN/M3) to lead the Integrated Mental Health Inpatient Unit. This senior nursing role is responsible for delivering high‑quality, person‑centred mental health care and shaping service excellence.
Key responsibilities
- Lead and manage the Integrated Mental Health Inpatient Unit, ensuring safe, high‑quality, consumer‑centred care.
- Provide operational leadership and line management to a multidisciplinary team of nurses, allied health professionals, lived‑experience staff, rehabilitation workers and administrative personnel.
- Oversee workforce management including recruitment, rostering, performance appraisal and staff development.
- Drive quality improvement, clinical governance, risk management and service‑excellence initiatives.
- Manage operational resources, budgets and unit performance.
- Foster consumer, carer and lived‑experience participation in service delivery and improvement.
- Support education, mentoring, clinical supervision and professional development of staff.
- Lead change management and implement evidence‑based models of care.
- Build partnerships with internal and external stakeholders to enhance integrated mental health services.
- Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, standards, policies and professional practice requirements.
Required profile
- Registered Nurse (RN) with M3 qualification.
- Proven leadership and line‑management experience in a multidisciplinary health setting.
- Demonstrated ability to coordinate evidence‑based care and manage resources effectively.
- Experience in workforce planning, recruitment and staff development.
- Strong commitment to quality improvement, clinical governance and risk management.
- Ability to engage consumers, carers and lived‑experience staff in service improvement.
- Excellent communication and partnership‑building skills.
