Mining Engineer – Practical Solutions for Safe, Productive Operations

About the role

MLG Oz is seeking a Mining Engineer to join its Perth‑based team, delivering practical engineering solutions that improve safety, productivity and operational performance across client sites. The role involves taking projects from concept through design, implementation, reporting and close‑out, with regular travel to operational sites.

Key responsibilities

• Develop practical engineering plans, designs and solutions that meet operational and client requirements.
• Prepare detailed drawings, project specifications, engineering calculations and cost estimates.
• Review and support drill pattern designs to deliver safe, practical and efficient outcomes.
• Design and conduct engineering trials and investigations to identify and validate workable solutions.
• Manage projects from planning and resourcing through to implementation, reporting and close‑out.
• Monitor project schedules, budgets and performance to ensure effective delivery.
• Analyse project outcomes and present clear recommendations to technical leads, senior leaders and clients.
• Provide hands‑on engineering support across operational sites, including implementation, reporting and compliance activities.

Required profile

• 3–5 years of relevant engineering experience, preferably within mining or a related operational environment.
• Bachelor’s degree in Mining Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving and design‑thinking abilities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with confidence presenting technical information to diverse stakeholders.
• Current C Class driver’s licence and willingness to travel regularly to client and operational sites.
