Mental Health Nurse – Youth Justice Precinct

About the role

cohealth is seeking a Mental Health Nurse to join its multidisciplinary team at the Malmsbury Youth Justice Precinct. The role supports General Practitioners in caring for clients with severe and complex mental illness within a 24/7 healthcare environment, working on a rotating roster of day, afternoon and night shifts.

Key responsibilities

• Provide mental health and risk assessments for out‑patient clients.
• Maintain accurate, contemporaneous client records, assessments, care plans and documentation.
• Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to deliver coordinated, client‑centred care.
• Adhere to practice standards set by the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency.

Required profile

• Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse.
• Bachelor level nursing qualification with a postgraduate mental health qualification or equivalent.
• Minimum two years of recent mental health nursing experience, preferably in a mental health facility.
• Strong alignment with cohealth’s values and mission.
