Mechanical Engineer Design Intern

About the role

Alcon is seeking a Mechanical Engineer Design Intern to support its Mechatronics Design Engineering team. The intern will assist in the design, testing and development of integrated mechanical, electrical and software systems that contribute to Alcon’s eye‑care products.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in mechatronics engineering tasks, including design, testing and development of integrated systems.
• Collaborate with engineers to analyse system performance and refine designs.
• Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical and software issues.
• Apply engineering principles to improve automation and intelligent systems.
• Follow GxP regulations and adhere to Standard Operating Procedures.
• Maintain accurate documentation and ensure quality control.

Required profile

• Associate degree in Engineering, Mechanical Technology or a related field.
• 2+ years experience in a manufacturing or engineering environment.
• Full work rights in Australia.

Required skills

• Basic understanding of electrical and software system integration.
