About the role
The Electrical Engineer will support the ship’s engineering team in maintaining all electrical equipment efficiently and in line with the vessel’s Safety Management System. Rosters involve periods of up to 6‑8 weeks on board, with international voyages extending longer.
Key responsibilities
- Maintain electrical motors, generators, main and emergency switchboards, fire alarm, general alarm, PA, AV/IT, navigation lights and equipment on both mother vessel and tender boats.
- Service all batteries, air‑conditioning systems, refrigeration units and conduct IAS system testing as required by Class.
- Rectify electrical defects recorded in the hotel defect book on a daily basis.
- Maintain manuals and drawings to meet AMSA and Class requirements.
- Participate in engine‑room tours and dining with guests.
Required profile
- Electrical qualification with a Certificate of Safety Training (CoST) endorsed by AMSA.
- Valid Seafarer’s Book, AMSA medical certificate and passport.
- Ability to obtain Remote First Aid, Advanced CPR/Medical Ship Care, Confined Space, Crowd Control, Maritime Security and MSIC card.
- Passenger‑ship experience is desirable.
