Locum Dentist – Flexible Australia‑wide placements

About the role

Abano Healthcare is seeking AHPRA‑registered dentists for locum assignments across Australia. You will work in a variety of well‑established practices, ranging from metropolitan clinics to regional and coastal locations, providing comprehensive dental care on a flexible schedule.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct examinations, diagnose, and develop treatment plans across general dentistry.
• Perform a range of procedures including restorations, extractions and urgent care.
• Manage patient flow, prioritising emergency cases as needed.
• Communicate treatment plans clearly and educate patients on oral health.
• Collaborate with dental assistants, oral health therapists and support staff.
• Maintain accurate clinical records in line with Australian standards.

Required profile

• Minimum of 2 years practising dentistry in Australia.
• Current AHPRA registration and professional indemnity insurance.
• Ability to work independently and adapt to different practice environments.

What we offer

• Choice of location and duration (1 week to 6+ months).
• $800 base retainer per working day or 40 % commission, whichever is greater.
