Head of Compliance - Pharmaceuticals

About the role

Lead the compliance function for a global pharmaceutical company in ANZ, reporting to the GM and dotted line to the HR Director. This newly created senior role will shape compliance architecture, drive a culture of accountability and support commercial outcomes.

Key responsibilities

• Create the compliance architecture and lead the culture of accountability.
• Engage the leadership team to set the tone from the top on integrity and ethical conduct.
• Influence all departments to align with the global corporate compliance strategy.
• Provide business‑wide advisory on compliance matters, including industry codes, interactions with HCPs, government and patient associations.
• Create and embed training programmes on the latest compliance requirements.
• Manage audits, reporting and continuous improvement of systems and processes.

Required profile

• 5+ years experience in compliance functions within Pharmaceuticals or Medical Devices.
• Qualifications in Business, Law, Science or similar; certifications in Compliance, Privacy or Corporate Governance are advantageous.
• Confidence consulting at executive level and partnering with global/APAC teams.
• Ability to influence others, uncover potential risks and drive action.
• Experience creating and delivering compliance learning programmes.
• Strong communication and presentation skills for sophisticated and front‑line audiences.
• Proven experience in autonomous roles within lean and matrix organisations.
• Project management and strategic planning expertise.
