Linux Administrator

About the role

Leidos Australia is looking for experienced Linux Administrators to join its AGO GEO SPACES program, delivering advanced national security technology solutions in a high‑compliance environment. You will ensure the stability and security of mission‑critical Linux systems that support core business operations.

Key responsibilities

• Provide Level 2/3 support for complex Linux issues, minimizing business disruption.
• Manage virtualised environments (VMware, KVM) and physical infrastructure such as HP OneView and GreenLake.
• Develop and maintain system configurations using Ansible, Puppet or Chef, and manage the Standard Operating Environment lifecycle with Kickstart.
• Administer accounts, permissions and authentication services (LDAP/OpenLDAP) while maintaining security compliance.
• Implement security controls, including firewalls and mandatory access controls, and automate routine tasks with Bash, Python or Perl.

Required profile

• Extensive experience with enterprise‑grade Linux distributions (RHEL, CentOS, Ubuntu, SUSE).
• Strong capability in managing user access and authentication services.
• Hands‑on experience with configuration and deployment tools (Ansible, Puppet, Chef).
• Proficiency in virtualization technologies (VMware ESXi/vSphere, KVM).
• Proven Level 2/3 incident management experience in enterprise environments.
• Australian citizenship with an active TSPV security clearance.
