Lifestyle Assistant – Part‑time (0.8 FTE)

About the role

The Lifestyle Assistant provides high‑quality personal care to residents at Benalla Health, supporting daily living activities and promoting social and spiritual wellbeing. Working under the Lifestyle Coordinator, this part‑time position (0.8 FTE) is essential to delivering the organisation’s philosophy of "Best Care, Every Person, Every Time".

Key responsibilities

• Assist care recipients with Activities of Daily Living (ADL) such as bathing, dressing, and feeding.
• Support residents’ social and spiritual wellbeing through organised activities and one‑to‑one interaction.
• Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team, including nurses and the Lifestyle Coordinator, to ensure coordinated care.
• Advocate for residents, representing their preferences and needs.
• Maintain confidentiality and adhere to Aged Care Standards and organisational policies.

Required profile

• Experience or knowledge of residential aged‑care environments.
• Certificate III in Individual Support (or equivalent).
• Strong organisational, communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Understanding of relevant legislation, including Aged Care Standards and National Standards.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team under nurse supervision.
