Legal Counsel – Renewable Energy (Victoria)

About the role

We are seeking a commercially‑savvy Legal Counsel to join our renewable energy team in Victoria. You will provide strategic legal advice and support the delivery of large‑scale clean‑energy projects, working at the intersection of law, business and sustainability.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver commercial‑focused legal advice across renewable energy development, retail and corporate operations.
• Draft, review and negotiate lease agreements, property contracts, construction contracts, power purchase agreements (PPAs) and O&M agreements.
• Prepare regulatory updates, conduct legal research and manage land‑related documentation such as easements, mortgages and caveats.
• Support FIRB compliance, handle applications and manage disputes or litigation.
• Build relationships with regulators, government bodies and industry stakeholders.
• Lead internal training on competition law, energy regulations and contract law.

Required profile

• Admitted lawyer in Victoria with 4–8 years post‑qualification experience.
• Hands‑on experience in the energy sector, preferably renewable energy.
• Strong commercial law background; construction or property law experience is a plus.
• Excellent stakeholder management, analytical and pragmatic judgment.
• Passion for sustainability and a growth‑oriented mindset.
