Legal Counsel – Financial Services (3-5 PQE)

About the role

Join CMC Markets as a Legal Counsel and provide essential legal support to the APAC operations in Australia and New Zealand. You will work in a fast‑paced fintech environment, influencing strategic decisions across our CFD trading and share‑investing businesses.

Key responsibilities

• Report to and maintain a close working relationship with the Senior Legal Counsel APAC and the APAC Legal Team.
• Support the APAC Senior Management team in delivering regional strategic objectives through transactional and project work.
• Review, negotiate and draft a variety of commercial contracts.
• Ensure regulatory compliance across both CFD and stock‑broking activities.
• Assist high‑impact strategic initiatives and provide commercial insight on legal matters.

Required profile

• 3‑5 years post‑qualification experience (PQE) in a generalist legal role.
• Demonstrated experience in financial services regulation, preferably within fintech or trading environments.
• Strong commercial awareness and ability to work collaboratively with business stakeholders.
• Willingness to work onsite in the Barangaroo office.
