Legal Counsel – Corporate & Commercial Law

About the role

Lynas Rare Earths is seeking an experienced Legal Counsel to provide high‑quality legal support across all Australian operations. You will play a critical part in supporting commercial decision‑making while ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and upholding the highest ethical standards.

Key responsibilities

• Provide general legal guidance to internal stakeholders in line with Lynas’s policies and legal obligations.
• Prepare, review, and maintain legal and business documentation, including commercial agreements.
• Draft, review, negotiate, and advise on a wide range of commercial contracts.
• Advise on regulatory and compliance matters across Australian operations.
• Support land tenure, native title, and heritage‑related issues.
• Contribute to procurement activities, tender processes, and dispute management.
• Assist with company secretarial functions such as board papers, minutes, ASIC filings, and company registers.
• Participate in legal knowledge sharing, training, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Law.
• 5+ years of post‑qualification experience, preferably in corporate, commercial or in‑house roles within the mining/resources sector.
• Strong understanding of Australian legal and regulatory frameworks.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Ability to provide clear, practical legal advice to non‑legal teams.
• High level of professionalism, integrity, and attention to detail.
