Leading Hand Paste Crew - Underground Gold Mine

About the role

Bellevue Gold Limited operates one of Australia's highest-grade underground gold mines, having achieved commercial production in 2024. Barminco, part of the Perenti Group, is recruiting experienced and motivated Leading Hands for its Paste Crew on a full-time basis, working an 8/6 or 7/7 FIFO roster from Perth. The role supports safe, productive and efficient underground paste operations.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the Supervisor in coordinating Paste Crew personnel for safe and efficient daily underground paste and infrastructure operations.
• Ensure allocated labour, equipment and materials meet operational targets and site safety requirements.
• Inspect underground work areas for compliance with site safety, operational and quality standards.
• Mentor, coach and support crew members to drive operational excellence, teamwork and continuous improvement.
• Coordinate installation, maintenance and repair of underground services such as paste lines, ventilation, pumps, water and air services.
• Oversee paste operations including pipe installation, welding, paste flow monitoring, paste wall construction and remote-operated equipment infrastructure.
• Support broader underground mining operations as required, with effective communication across departments.

Required profile

• Demonstrated experience as a Paste Crew Operator or in a leadership role within the mining industry.
• Relevant operating tickets and licences, including leadership training.
• High level of experience and knowledge in training other crew members.
• Commitment to safety and adherence to site procedures.
• Ability to work autonomously and within a team; proof of working rights in Australia is required.
