Lead in First Nations Health – Professor/Associate Professor

About the role
The University of the Sunshine Coast (UniSC) is establishing a new Medicine program and seeks an experienced academic to lead First Nations Health. This senior position, at Professor or Associate Professor level, will shape a culturally safe, Indigenous‑led curriculum and support the broader medical education strategy.
Key responsibilities
- Provide strategic leadership for the design, delivery and evaluation of First Nations health curriculum and assessment.
- Mentor, grow and lead a team of Indigenous academics.
- Collaborate with First Nations communities, Elders and partner organisations to embed Indigenous knowledge and priorities.
- Contribute to teaching, research and scholarship in First Nations health and medical education.
- Advise senior university leaders on Indigenous matters related to health education, accreditation and partnerships.
Required profile
- Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander identification (role is identified and open only to Indigenous peoples).
- Significant academic experience in health, medicine or related fields, with a record of leadership.
- Demonstrated ability to develop culturally safe educational programmes.
- Experience working with Indigenous communities and stakeholders.

What we offer
- Full‑time, ongoing appointment with flexible fractional arrangements considered.
- Salary at Academic Level E $224,480 or Level D $174,423‑$192,092 plus up to 17% superannuation.
- Relocation support where required.
