Lawyer – Care & Protection or Family & Domestic Violence

About the role

Ruah Legal Services is seeking two full‑time lawyers to join its specialist practice. One will focus on Care & Protection matters, the other on Family & Domestic Violence. Both roles operate within an integrated legal and psychosocial support model, collaborating with key workers, support workers and community professionals to assist vulnerable children, women and families.

Key responsibilities

• Provide legal advice, advocacy and representation in courts and tribunals.
• Manage a diverse caseload while delivering high‑quality, client‑centred legal services.
• Work closely with community workers to help clients access services and navigate complex systems.
• Deliver services in an accessible, culturally safe and trauma‑informed manner.
• Collaborate with external stakeholders to ensure coordinated support for clients.

Required profile

• Qualified lawyer with a passion for supporting vulnerable populations.
• Experience or strong interest in child protection or family/domestic violence law.
• Ability to work within a multidisciplinary, trauma‑informed framework.
• Excellent communication and advocacy skills.
