About the role

The Department of Justice and Community Safety is looking for a Justice Officer Team Leader to lead a team that keeps vital justice services running smoothly. The team provides daily administrative support and customer service across justice service centres in the south of Victoria. It is an ongoing, full-time role earning $81,496 - $98,955 per year, plus super.

Key responsibilities

• Provide clear leadership and coach staff to build their skills and confidence
• Plan daily work, manage staff resources and help the team meet service needs
• Oversee accurate records, reports, office tasks and vehicle fleet management
• Deliver helpful customer service and resolve complex issues raised by clients and staff
• Improve work processes and support justice programs across the region

Required profile

• Current Victorian driver's licence
• Strong leadership skills to guide staff, give feedback and help others grow
• Clear communication skills to explain information and resolve difficult issues
• Sound judgement to solve problems and make decisions using relevant rules and guidance
• Commitment to inclusion and ability to support people from diverse backgrounds
• Experience leading a team that delivers different services is an advantage

Required skills

• Strong computer skills
• Good understanding of relevant laws, policies and work procedures
