IT Project Technician

About the role

AUIT, an Australian managed service provider (MSP) based in Canberra, is looking for an experienced IT Project Technician to join its project team. You will help plan and deliver technical solutions for clients, from installing servers and migrating to the cloud to deploying new systems and rolling out IT products. The role is hands-on, diverse and customer focused, working on-site and remotely.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver and implement IT infrastructure projects, on-premises and in the cloud.
• Install, upgrade and migrate servers.
• Deploy Microsoft 365, Azure and other modern platforms.
• Implement new hardware, software and systems for clients.
• Work with customers on-site and remotely to ensure smooth rollouts.
• Document work clearly and follow project delivery processes.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in an IT Project Technician or technical role, preferably in an MSP environment.
• Lives in the ACT region, driving between Hume and customer locations.
• Valid Australian driver's licence and passes an Australian police check.
• Knowledge of the Essential 8.

Required skills

• Active Directory and EntraID experience.
• Windows file shares, permissions and security; Group Policy creation and management.
• Intune enrolment and policy management.
• Printer management, Office 365 management and domain/DNS management.
• Desirable: network management (subnetting, L2/L3 switching/routing), VoIP/SIP phone administration, Level 2-3 support, ticket-based CRM, and troubleshooting hardware faults.
