Investment Analyst – AI & Alternative Data

About the role

We are looking for an Investment Analyst to join the AI and Alternative Data team within our Global Equities business in Sydney. The role sits at the intersection of investing, quantitative research, data science and software engineering, supporting both fundamental and systematic investment processes.

Key responsibilities

• Own the catalogue of AI agents, skills and MCPs used daily by portfolio managers and analysts, ensuring reliability, observability and productivity.
• Drive firm‑wide AI fluency by translating specialist tools into capabilities adopted across teams.
• Apply engineering rigor to research code and data pipelines, maintaining quality, lineage and reproducibility.
• Partner with systematic quant and investment teams to develop, validate and implement alpha signals, portfolio construction frameworks and optimisation processes.
• Use AI and engineering tools to accelerate research workflows and integrate systematic insights into investment decisions.

Required profile

• Strong academic background in software engineering, computer science, data science, AI, quantitative finance, mathematics, statistics, physics or actuarial science.
• 0‑3 years of relevant industry experience or equivalent.
• Ability to build and maintain production‑grade AI workflows, including MCPs, skills, context engineering, guardrails and observability.
• Passion for translating AI research into a durable investment edge.
