Internal Audit Manager

About the role

Wise is seeking an Internal Audit Manager to join its growing internal audit team in Sydney. You will coordinate audits, improve governance and risk management, and help shape audit methodologies in a fast‑paced, data‑driven environment.

Key responsibilities

• Support the implementation and operation of the internal audit assurance framework, including continuous monitoring and automated audit routines.
• Develop the annual audit plan, conduct risk assessments, and deliver audits to ensure timely, relevant outcomes.
• Monitor implementation of audit recommendations and measure the effectiveness of improvements.
• Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders and supervise audit team activities.

Required profile

• At least 7 years of experience in assurance, risk or control roles, preferably in financial services or fintech.
• Deep knowledge of financial crime, risk management, governance and Australian regulatory frameworks (APRA, AUSTRAC, ASIC).
• Proven ability to plan, staff, deliver and report multiple audit engagements independently.
• Strong coordination skills, attention to detail and the ability to communicate findings clearly to varied audiences.
