Senior Underwriter – Commercial Institutions & Financial Lines

About the role

Join AIG as a Senior Financial Lines Underwriter, driving growth and profitability for the Financial Lines division. You will underwrite new and renewal business across the corporate financial lines portfolio while building strong broker relationships.

Key responsibilities

• Underwrite new and renewal business in line with AIG guidelines, authority limits and principles.
• Develop and maintain a pipeline of new business, manage existing broker relationships and maximise portfolio value.
• Monitor target accounts and progress against budget using tools such as Pipeline Report, Hit Rate report and Renewal Register.
• Maintain accurate files and registers to support management reporting and timely policy issuance.
• Assist in implementing business plans and mentor junior underwriters.

Required profile

• Knowledge of D&O, EPL and crime insurance underwriting.
• Client‑oriented with proven ability to build and maintain broker relationships.
• Relevant experience in insurance brokerage, claims handling, reinsurance underwriting, risk management, accounting, auditing or insurance law.
• Track record of underwriting financial lines insurance products.
• Awareness of commercial sector trends impacting insurance.
