Actuarial Analyst – Managing General Agent

About the role

Join AIG as an Actuarial Analyst supporting the Managing General Agent (MGA) team across Australia and New Zealand. You will work in a fast‑paced, collaborative environment, helping to price, monitor and assess profitability of MGA portfolios.

Key responsibilities

• Support proactive portfolio management to ensure sustainable profitable growth.
• Develop and implement best‑practice monitoring tools covering top‑line metrics and key lead indicators such as strike rates, rate changes and retention.
• Assist in profitability assessments, budgeting loss ratios by segment and due‑diligence analysis for new MGA opportunities.
• Contribute to the development and refinement of pricing/rating models using advanced analytics and predictive modelling.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics or a related quantitative field.
• Prior experience in general insurance and demonstrated analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks, meet tight deadlines and adapt quickly to changing priorities.
• Strong communication skills and a collaborative, professional attitude.

Required skills

• Programming experience in at least one of Python, R or SQL.
• Proficiency with databases and data extraction/manipulation.
