About the role

The ARA Group is seeking an experienced lawyer to join its small in‑house legal team. This role offers development opportunities within a large Australia‑and‑New Zealand organisation and involves collaboration with external legal providers.

Key responsibilities

Review, negotiate and manage commercial leases.
Draft, negotiate and review contracts across the business.
Provide general commercial law advice and support litigation management.
Manage external legal providers and conduct legal research.
Support due‑diligence processes for acquisitions and track lease‑related deadlines.

Required profile

Australian citizen or eligible to work in Australia.
Qualified lawyer with admission to practice in Australia and a current practising certificate.
Minimum 3 years post‑qualification experience in a reputable law firm or in‑house corporate environment.
Effective communicator with strong negotiation, drafting and commercial mindset.

Required skills

Lease review and negotiation.
Contract drafting and negotiation.
Litigation management.
Legal research and due‑diligence.
