Legal Counsel – Property Focus

About the role

TEEG is seeking a commercially‑minded Legal Counsel to join its North Sydney support office. You will partner closely with Property, Projects and Facilities teams across Australia and New Zealand, providing practical legal advice on leasing, acquisitions and development initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Draft, review and negotiate leasing and property documentation, including agreements for lease, assignments, renewals and variations.
• Support property acquisitions, development projects and strategic growth initiatives.
• Provide pragmatic legal advice to Property, Projects and Facilities teams across ANZ.
• Manage property‑related legal risks and disputes.
• Collaborate with business leaders and stakeholders to achieve commercial outcomes.
• Assist the wider Legal team on general commercial and business initiatives as required.

Required profile

• Approximately 3+ years post‑qualification experience in property law.
• Strong experience reviewing, negotiating and advising on commercial and retail leasing matters, preferably in a fast‑paced multi‑site environment.
• Experience acting for tenants, landlords or multi‑site operators.
• Commercial mindset with ability to balance legal risk and business outcomes.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder‑management skills.
• Interest in building a long‑term in‑house legal career.
