Hotel Accountant

About the role

The hotel is seeking a full‑time Hotel Accountant to join the ibis Styles Brisbane team. Reporting to the Financial Controller and supported by a Senior Finance Officer, the role blends traditional accounting with operational involvement.

Key responsibilities

• Manage day‑to‑day accounting activities, including accounts payable and payroll.
• Prepare bank, balance‑sheet and general‑ledger reconciliations and monthly financial reports.
• Support credit control, month‑end close, journal posting and budget preparation.
• Partner with department managers to identify profitability improvements and implement accounting process efficiencies.

Required profile

• Qualifications in Accounting, Finance or related discipline.
• Previous experience in an accounting or finance role, preferably within hospitality.
• Strong attention to detail, methodical approach and ability to meet deadlines.
• Full Australian working rights; sponsorship not available.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel skills.
• Experience with financial systems such as Opera Cloud, Zambion, PurchasePlus, Micros Symphony or SunSystems Cloud.
