Full‑Time Commis Chef

About the role

Join Accor’s Novotel Devonport team as a Commis Chef, preparing and cooking dishes across all service periods, including functions and events, in a vibrant waterfront hotel.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and cook dishes for all service periods, including events.
• Set up and run a designated kitchen section during service.
• Ensure mise en place is ready and service‑ready.
• Maintain consistent food quality, presentation and portion control.
• Monitor stock levels, storage and rotation.
• Collaborate with senior chefs to deliver high‑quality service.

Required profile

• Trade qualification in Commercial Cookery (or currently undertaking).
• Previous experience in a hotel or commercial kitchen.
• Solid understanding of food safety and hygiene standards.
• Ability to work independently within a section during service.
• Strong time management and organisational skills.
• Positive attitude with a willingness to learn and develop culinary skills.
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
