Full Stack Ruby on Rails Developer

About the role

A fast-growing Australian SaaS e-commerce platform is looking for a Full Stack Ruby on Rails Developer to work closely with internal teams such as sales, product and operations. Every change you make is used by customers immediately, and you will help shape the technical direction of the company. The role suits someone committed to well-tested code, with a collegial attitude and interest in continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Write clean, maintainable, reusable, reliable and efficient Ruby code
• Design robust, scalable and secure features
• Contribute across the full development lifecycle: architecture, design, development, UX, documentation, unit testing, delivery and maintenance
• Monitor and troubleshoot system performance as needed

Required profile

• 2+ years of commercial development experience with Ruby on Rails or similar server-side languages (PHP, C#); limited experience is acceptable if you are willing to be supported and trained
• Experience building complex web applications
• Solid understanding of object-oriented programming
• Problem solver who works autonomously and acts quickly in a fast-paced, sometimes ambiguous environment
• BS/BA degree in Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent
