Front Office Supervisor - Ovolo Nishi Canberra

About the role

Ovolo Nishi, a hotel and gallery in Canberra's New Acton arts and cultural district, is looking for a Front Office Supervisor (full time). Reporting to the Front Office Manager, the role is primarily a leadership position focused on guest satisfaction and the strategic development of the hotel. The supervisor supports the Front Office Manager in maintaining strong guest experiences, team performance and smooth day-to-day operations, and is rostered for night audit shifts when needed.

Key responsibilities

• Energize, motivate, train, develop and lead the Front Office team
• Supervise operations and assist with duties as required, keeping the Front Office running to Ovolo standards and procedures
• Conduct show rounds around the hotel for guests, clients and enquirers
• Oversee guest requests such as airline reservations, ground transport, accommodation, restaurant bookings and entertainment plans
• Manage the Front Office roster to meet business demand
• Complete night audit shifts and overnight duties when required, including end-of-day procedures, reporting, account checks, security and overnight guest support

Required profile

• Previous front office experience in a hotel, ideally with supervisory or leadership experience
• Strong guest service, communication and problem-solving skills, able to lead a shift
• Previous night audit experience highly regarded
• Flexibility to work a rotating roster including AM, PM, weekends, public holidays and night audit shifts
• Attention to detail, energy and ambition to progress within Front Office

Required skills

• Experience with Opera Cloud preferred
• Knowledge of Infrasys and STR advantageous but not essential
