FinOps Analyst

About the role

The Department of Communities and Justice is looking for a FinOps Analyst in Parramatta. The role drives financial accountability and maximises the value of technology investments through cost analysis, forecasting, reporting, governance and optimisation of technology expenditure. It sits within a small, collaborative team.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver cost analysis, forecasting, budgeting and variance reporting
• Support FinOps governance, financial controls and best-practice processes
• Analyse technology expenditure and identify optimisation opportunities
• Produce financial reports and insights that support decision-making

Required profile

• Experience in a FinOps, financial analysis, budgeting or related role
• Strong stakeholder engagement, problem-solving and customer service skills
• High attention to detail, able to work independently and collaboratively

Required skills

• Advanced Microsoft Excel
• Power BI or Tableau
• Knowledge of cloud and ICT environments such as Azure, AWS or Google Cloud Platform
