Area Manager, NSW - Commercial Broker & Origination

About the role

The Area Manager leads a team of Senior Business Banking Managers within the Commercial Broker & Origination proposition, supporting broker and circle of influence customers and proprietary customers. The role sits in the Business & Private Bank division, in Parramatta, and is responsible for sales, revenue, customer experience, compliance and a well-managed business.

Key responsibilities

• Lead a team of bankers to maintain and leverage deep circle of influence and broker relationships to acquire new-to-bank customers.
• Drive overall sales and revenue performance measured by Business Lending FUM drawn and other cross-sell opportunities.
• Ensure team productivity through a well-executed sales operating rhythm, measured by response times and conversion of opportunities.
• Own accountability for operational risk and credit risk in the business.
• Build a coaching culture where bankers and leaders develop deep credit expertise.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders, especially the remote banking team and its leaders.
• Build and maintain relationships with key referral partners.
• Improve customer experience and Net Promoter Score, and foster a customer-focused culture.
• Manage resources, rostering and operational efficiencies to deliver responsive service.

Required profile

• Ideally a passion for helping business owners thrive.
• Deep commercial credit experience, with expertise in SBB lending processes and credit policy.
• Not expected to have all listed skills; a growth mindset is valued.
