Accounts Payable Clerk

About the role

Hitachi Construction Machinery (Australia) is looking for an Accounts Payable Clerk for its Parramatta support office. This is a permanent, full-time position within the finance team, which supports the company's infrastructure and mining projects. The role centres on accurate invoice validation, vendor account reconciliation and timely payments.

Key responsibilities

• Validate invoice data accurately and on time in the AP automation software, and review invoices for required data elements, contacting vendors when information is missing.
• Reconcile vendor accounts periodically and ensure branch creditors are paid in line with company policy.
• Follow up on ageing invoices that branches have not processed and ensure payments comply with company policies.
• Handle enquiries from creditors about their payments and respond promptly to internal stakeholders on vendor matters.
• Assist with vendor setup, prepare weekly payment vouchers and help develop relevant policies and process improvements.

Required profile

• Demonstrated experience in an Accounts Payable or similar transactional finance role.
• Strong attention to detail and a methodical approach to workload and deadlines.
• Clear communication skills and the confidence to follow up on outstanding items professionally.
• A collaborative approach that fits a close-knit support team.

Required skills

• Proficiency with ERP or accounting software; experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 is an advantage.
• Understanding of three-way purchase order matching and invoice processing workflows.
