Finance Controller – International Industrial Group

About the role

We are seeking a Finance Controller for the Australian subsidiary of a globally listed French industrial group. Based in Brisbane with hybrid work and regular travel to Townsville, you will be the senior finance leader on the ground, reporting directly to the APAC Regional CFO.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare monthly and annual financial statements and manage year‑end close with external accountants.
• Lead annual budgets, three‑year forecasts and monthly Group reporting submissions.
• Run variance analysis and provide clear financial commentary to the Managing Director and Regional CFO.
• Oversee cash flow, banking relationships and working capital management.
• Coordinate the upcoming statutory audit and ensure Australian compliance.
• Drive the transition from Xero to a more robust ERP system.
• Partner with operations on cost control, project financials and business planning.

Required profile

• 5+ years experience in financial control, FP&A or audit, preferably in a standalone/SME environment.
• CPA or CA qualified (or equivalent recognised in Australia).
• Strong experience preparing financial statements, managing audits and owning month‑end close.
• Fluent English and based in Brisbane with willingness to travel to Townsville.
