External Audit Manager

About the role

KPMG is seeking an External Audit Manager to join its Sydney audit team. You will work on large, publicly listed clients and well‑known brands, applying deep financial‑services knowledge to deliver high‑quality audit engagements.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and perform audit procedures to obtain sufficient, appropriate evidence in line with professional standards and regulatory requirements.
• Lead and manage audit engagements, ensuring timely delivery, client service excellence and business development.
• Execute assurance‑related engagements and provide insightful audit reporting.
• Mentor and inspire audit talent, fostering a collaborative team environment.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with prestigious audit clients.

Required profile

• Proactive attitude toward accuracy, deadlines and detail‑orientation.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, able to translate complex concepts for diverse audiences.
• People‑focused, with a passion for sharing audit insights and supporting client learning.
• Proven track record of high performance in audit or related finance roles.

Required skills

• Strong IFRS knowledge.
