Engineering Technician – Autonomous Vehicle Systems

About the role

Applied Intuition is looking for a motivated Engineering Technician to support the design, build‑out, integration, testing, commissioning and maintenance of autonomous vehicle platforms. The role combines hands‑on hardware work with field deployments at mine sites and quarries, requiring travel and periods away from home.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in building, installing, integrating and commissioning autonomous vehicle hardware and supporting systems.
• Troubleshoot vehicle electrical, computer, communications, sensor and localisation (including GNSS) systems, performing root‑cause analysis and calibration.
• Maintain an organized inventory of components, tools and field supplies.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to minimise vehicle downtime while ensuring safety and performance.
• Support field testing and operational activities in remote environments.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years of technical experience in mechanical, electrical, telecommunications, computer, automotive or robotics industries.
• Proven ability to assemble prototypes, electrical wiring and cable assemblies following engineering instructions.
• Strong understanding of electrical schematics, wiring diagrams and data sheets.
