Dive Instructor / Expedition Crew

About the role

The Dive Instructor/Expedition Crew member ensures the safety of all diving operations on Coral Expeditions’ cruise ships and provides a range of dive and snorkelling experiences for guests and crew.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate confined‑water training for non‑certified guests and crew and open‑water dives for certified participants.
• Maintain and service all diving and snorkelling equipment, RIB, compressor and air cylinders.
• Conduct snorkel rescue training for new crew members and manage guest health and safety during excursions.
• Perform pre‑excursion risk assessments, comply with site regulations and provide safety briefings.
• Assist with vessel turnaround duties, including gangway watch and loading/disembarking of tenders.

Required profile

• Demonstrated experience in marine environments and strong boat handling knowledge.
• Excellent communication, public speaking and customer service skills.
• Ability to work under pressure, make quick decisions and maintain high standards of conduct.

Required skills

• PADI Dive Instructor qualification (minimum 2 years experience).
• First Aid & CPR certification.
• Intermediate Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Coxswains Certificate – Grade 1 (AMSA endorsed) preferred.
