Director Infrastructure Operations (EL2)

About the role

Chandler Macleod is recruiting on behalf of its client for an EL2 Director Infrastructure Operations position within the Australian Submarine Agency (ASA), a Federal Government agency supporting Australia's long-term capability program. The role leads a function within the Infrastructure Planning, Performance and Integration (IPPI) team, which sits in the IP&C Division responsible for planning and coordinating the physical infrastructure for the nuclear-powered submarine program. The position is based in Pialligo, Western Australia, and is full-time.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and grow high-performing teams, building capability and fostering accountability and collaboration
• Drive continuous improvement across reporting, governance, information management and organisational performance
• Provide strategic leadership and sound judgement to solve complex problems and balance competing priorities
• Strengthen delivery confidence through performance oversight, insights and operational levers
• Apply commercial, financial and business management acumen to turn data into decisions and action
• Influence outcomes across diverse stakeholders where success depends on collaboration rather than direct authority
• Identify and manage enterprise risks, opportunities and dependencies
• Operate effectively in ambiguity, giving clear advice and direction in evolving environments
• Prepare and deliver high-quality advice and communication to senior executives, government stakeholders and delivery partners

Required profile

• Proven leadership experience in complex operational, portfolio, program or infrastructure environments
• Strong commercial, financial and business management capability
• Experience improving organisational performance through governance, reporting and insight-led decision-making
• Demonstrated ability to influence outcomes across multiple stakeholders and competing priorities
• High-level written and verbal communication skills, with experience advising senior leaders
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Negative Vetting Level 2 (NV2) security clearance
