Development Project Engineer

About the role

Reporting to the Manager Engineering and Grid, you will support engineering design, process and governance for Australian development projects, including large‑scale energy storage, solar generation, gas turbine generation, advanced manufacturing precincts and data centres. This role is key to delivering technical support for an expanding development portfolio.

Key responsibilities

• Drive and support engineering outcomes for development projects, ensuring compliance with technical rules and regulations.
• Prepare, coordinate and monitor projects from conception to completion, managing budgets, timelines and engineering design solutions.
• Support grid connection activities, managing external engineering resources, TNSP/DNSP registrations and connection applications.
• Conduct site visits and assessments, coordinating with OEMs, consultants, EPCs, AEMO and state network service providers.

Required profile

• 3+ years experience in large infrastructure project engineering, preferably in renewable energy or storage.
• Degree in engineering (electrical preferred) and a current driver’s licence.
• Strong analytical, research and problem‑solving abilities with effective communication skills.
• Ability to maintain collaborative relationships across diverse stakeholders and manage multiple priorities.
