Design Manager - Health

About the role

Turner & Townsend, a global professional services company with over 22,000 people in more than 62 countries and majority-owned by CBRE Group, is hiring a Design Manager for its Health practice in Canberra. The role leads project outcomes across planning, design development and delivery phases, managing scope, programme, budget and quality objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Lead project outcomes across planning, design development and delivery phases.
• Manage project scope, programme, budget and quality objectives.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary teams, consultants, contractors and key stakeholders.
• Provide leadership through complex project interfaces, facilitate collaboration and issue resolution.
• Manage stakeholder engagement and ensure requirements are translated into project solutions.
• Oversee design management activities and support the integration of technical, operational and project requirements.
• Drive project governance, risk management and quality assurance processes.
• Monitor project performance and identify opportunities to improve delivery outcomes.
• Support procurement, contractor engagement and commercial management activities as required.

Required profile

• Demonstrated experience in Construction Management, Project Management, Design Management, Engineering, Architecture or a related discipline.
• Proven experience delivering large-scale, complex building, infrastructure or capital works projects.
• Experience in client-side, consulting or principal contractor environments highly regarded.
• Senior management, Associate Director or Project Director level experience.
• Strong leadership, stakeholder management and communication skills, and ability to manage multidisciplinary teams.

Required skills

• Commercial awareness with a strong understanding of project controls, governance and risk management.
• Ability to deliver outcomes within time, cost and quality parameters.
