Design Engineer - Roads, Structures and Utilities

About the role

The role involves coordinating civil design packages and technical interfaces for major infrastructure projects in New South Wales. Reporting to design leadership, you will act as the link between external consultants, field engineering teams and client representatives to keep design programmes on track.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate civil roadwork, structure, drainage and utility drawings and specifications.
• Manage design interfaces with consultants, subcontractors, construction teams and clients.
• Facilitate constructability, value engineering and Safety in Design reviews.
• Resolve RFIs, variations, technical queries and field changes.
• Track design milestones, deliverables and comment registers.

Required profile

• Bachelor degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline.
• At least four years experience as a design or site engineer on civil infrastructure.
• Experience on major roads, highways, earthworks or heavy civil projects; TfNSW experience highly regarded.

Required skills

• Proficiency with CAD/BIM review tools such as AutoCAD, 12D or Navisworks.
• Knowledge of Australian Standards, TfNSW specifications and Safety in Design.
• Strong analytical ability and stakeholder communication.
