Deputy Team Leader – Australia-Pacific Partnerships Platform

About the role

The Deputy Team Leader is a senior leadership position within the Australia‑Pacific Partnerships Platform, managed by DT Global. Working closely with the Team Leader, the role oversees the shared Support Unit and ensures high‑quality strategic support for country programmes across the Pacific.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and manage the Support Unit staff, including the MEL Manager, Development and Inclusion Specialist, and Senior Communications Officer.
• Oversee monitoring, evaluation, learning and adaptation activities to strengthen programme impact.
• Guide communications, research, inclusion, knowledge management and organisational learning initiatives.
• Contribute to strategic planning, continuous improvement and capacity‑building for Pacific leadership.
• Act as the delegate for the Team Leader when required, representing the Platform in internal and external forums.

Required profile

• Post‑graduate qualification in international development, public policy, management, communications, monitoring and evaluation, governance or a related field.
• More than 10 years of professional experience in development programmes, preferably with experience in the Pacific region.
• Demonstrated senior leadership and team‑management capabilities.
• Proven ability to work collaboratively with government, community and stakeholder partners.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of monitoring, evaluation and learning frameworks.
• Experience in communications strategy and knowledge management.
• Expertise in inclusive development and capacity‑building approaches.
