Deputy CEO – Re‑advertised

About the role

The Deputy CEO will support the Executive Chief Officer in leading the Pika Wiya Health Service, providing strategic advice and overseeing day‑to‑day operations in comprehensive primary health care.

Key responsibilities

• Provide high‑level strategic advice to the CEO on initiatives, programs and external environmental changes.
• Assist the CEO with financial, administrative and human‑resource management, including performance appraisals and compliance with awards and agreements.
• Develop and strengthen staff capacity, ensure alignment with service delivery and reporting requirements.
• Liaise with Aboriginal communities, government agencies, and other stakeholders to promote services and address community needs.
• Participate in travel, including intra‑ and interstate trips, and be available for out‑of‑hours work as required.

Required profile

• 3–5 years of experience in comprehensive primary health care leadership.
• Strong knowledge of local content and Aboriginal health contexts in Port Augusta and surrounding areas.
• Current SA driver’s licence and willingness to travel long distances.
• Ability to obtain and maintain National Police Check, DSCI Working with Children and Aged Care checks.
