Deputy CEO (Fixed‑Term) – Port Augusta

About the role

The Deputy CEO will support the Executive Chief Officer in leading the Pika Wiya Health Service, a comprehensive primary health care organisation serving Port Augusta and surrounding areas. This is a fixed‑term, two‑year position based onsite in Port Augusta.

Key responsibilities

• Provide high‑level strategic advice to the CEO on key initiatives, programmes and external environmental changes.
• Assist in day‑to‑day management of the health service, including financial, administrative and human‑resource functions.
• Develop and strengthen staff knowledge and capacity to meet programme and reporting requirements.
• Liaise with senior representatives of government agencies, Aboriginal organisations, local councils and other stakeholders.
• Promote PWHSAC services within Aboriginal communities and collaborate with existing service providers.

Required profile

• University education with 3–5 years of experience in comprehensive primary health care.
• Willingness to work out of hours, including evenings and weekends as needed.
• Ability to travel intra‑ and interstate, including overnight stays and light‑aircraft travel.
• Current SA driver’s licence and capacity to drive long distances.
• Clearances: National Police Check, DSCI Working with Children and DCSI Aged Care Sector checks.
