Dementia Advisor

About the role

Join HammondCare as a Dementia Advisor on a full‑time basis at the Scone site, providing expert advice, guidance and emotional support to individuals living with dementia and their families.

Key responsibilities

• Provide on‑the‑ground dementia‑specific advisory services and participate in regular clinical review meetings.
• Coach and mentor care staff, building capacity through education, case study discussions and hands‑on support.
• Plan and engage with individuals and teams to achieve practice development objectives and quality improvements.
• Evaluate and report on projects using HammondCare processes, including behaviour management planning.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years experience working with people living with dementia.
• Registered Nurse qualification (essential).
• Further qualification in Training and Assessment (highly desirable).
• Strong negotiation, communication and relationship‑building skills.

Required skills

• Teaching, mentoring and coaching abilities.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office products.
• Ability to conduct personal care and general resident support tasks.
