Data Center IT Operations Technician – AWS

About the role

Join Amazon Web Services’ Data Center Operations team to install, configure, and maintain the hardware that powers the AWS cloud. You will work in large‑scale data centers, collaborating with engineers and logistics teams to ensure continuous, reliable service for customers worldwide.

Key responsibilities

• Install and configure racks of servers, storage and networking equipment according to internal SLAs.
• Diagnose and repair hardware issues, including physical replacement of faulty components.
• Remediate power and cooling incidents on racks and support scheduled power‑and‑cooling events.
• Perform shift work on a 4‑days‑on/4‑days‑off rotational schedule, including night shifts.
• Lift and rack equipment using AWS‑provided lifting tools and travel between sites with a personal vehicle.

Required profile

• Valid driver’s licence and own vehicle for site travel.
• Ability to lift and handle heavy equipment safely.
• Willingness to work rotating shifts, including nights.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety and security standards.

Required skills

• Server hardware installation and troubleshooting.
• Storage hardware configuration and repair.
• Network device setup and fault resolution.
• Rack installation and cabling.
• Power and cooling system troubleshooting.
• Familiarity with AWS data‑center environments.
