Platform Engineer – Sydney

About the role

Deckard is seeking a Platform Engineer to join its Engineering Operations function in Sydney. The role involves working across the full platform stack, including cloud infrastructure, deployment pipelines, developer experience, observability, and security compliance and reporting. The engineer will report to the Director of Engineering Operations and collaborate closely with engineering teams delivering Deckard’s products such as Rentalscape and Cyborg. The position is full‑time and based on‑site in Pyrmont, Sydney. Candidates must reside in Sydney or the Greater Sydney metropolitan area and hold Australian citizenship or permanent residency with unrestricted work rights; visa sponsorship is not available. The successful candidate will help improve developer experience, maintain platform reliability, and ensure comprehensive observability and security standards across Deckard’s services. Core duties involve designing and maintaining cloud infrastructure, automating deployment pipelines, and monitoring system performance to uphold observability. The engineer will also ensure security compliance and reporting align with organizational standards, and work with product teams to align platform capabilities with business objectives.
