Corporate Compliance & Legal Officer

About the role

The Corporate Compliance & Legal Officer will support Yancoal's Compliance team while developing personal expertise in corporate governance and legal matters. Based in Sydney CBD, the role offers a hybrid working arrangement and contributes to the company's regulatory compliance across Australia and Hong Kong.

Key responsibilities

• Provide company secretarial and corporate governance support to ensure compliance with Australian and Hong Kong regulations.
• Arrange and coordinate board, committee, shareholder, and subsidiary meetings.
• Maintain statutory registers, governance records, policies and document management systems.
• Prepare and lodge statutory forms, returns and regulatory reports.
• Assist with preparation and verification of periodic reports and internal approvals.
• Support disclosure requirements for employee share schemes.
• Respond to legal queries and assist with ad‑hoc compliance tasks.
• Protect corporate information and intellectual property in line with company policies.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Law or equivalent legal qualification.
• Graduate Diploma of Applied Corporate Governance and Risk Management (desirable).
• 3‑5 years of experience in a law firm or corporate governance/compliance function.
• Demonstrated experience with Australian regulatory environment, ASX Listing Rules and Corporations Act 2001.
• Exposure to HKEX Listing Rules and corporate law knowledge (desirable).
