Consultant / Senior Consultant - Tax Advisory

About the role

KPMG is seeking a Consultant or Senior Consultant to join its Tax Advisory team, supporting private and mid‑market clients with complex Australian tax matters. The role is advisory‑focused, requiring strong technical research, analysis, and the production of high‑quality written advice.

Key responsibilities

• Advise clients on complex Australian tax issues, both domestic and cross‑border.
• Support transaction work, including asset acquisitions, divestments, and capital gains tax advisory.
• Assist with tax due diligence and contribute to transaction structuring for buy‑side and sell‑side engagements.
• Prepare detailed, technically robust written advice on restructuring, cross‑border, and other tax matters.
• Support ATO reviews, audits, and dispute‑related matters.
• Conduct in‑depth technical tax research and apply legislation to practical client scenarios.
• Assist with structuring matters involving controlled entities and group arrangements.
• Contribute to financing and structuring considerations across broader advisory engagements.
• Collaborate with senior team members to deliver high‑quality outcomes across engagements.

Required profile

• Strong technical capability in Australian tax law with a focus on research and written advisory work.
• Structured, analytical mindset able to interpret legislation and translate it into practical, commercially sound advice.
• Commitment to delivering accurate, high‑quality work and supporting senior stakeholders with well‑prepared insights and documentation.
