Construction Specialist

About the role

The Construction Specialist will support the Construction Manager in delivering safe, predictable and efficient construction across BP Australia's assets, providing leadership, HSSE governance and technical oversight.

Key responsibilities

• Champion HSSE across all construction activities and ensure compliance with BP standards.
• Support development and implementation of construction execution strategy throughout the project lifecycle.
• Provide construction assurance, self‑verification and contractor oversight to guarantee safe and compliant delivery.
• Participate in constructability, readiness, SIMOPS reviews and risk assessments to mitigate execution risks.
• Monitor contractor safety, quality, cost and schedule performance against agreed KPIs.
• Support commissioning, certification and handover activities for successful project delivery.

Required profile

• Significant experience in construction execution within oil and gas, refining or heavy industrial environments.
• Proven experience supervising and supporting contractor management and field execution activities.
• Experience in construction assurance, readiness reviews and risk management.
