Concrete Tester – Field Testing Specialist

About the role

Join our high‑output site as a Concrete Field Tester, supporting the Waterloo Corner precast segment project. You will ensure compliance with Australian Standards and NATA requirements while collecting and testing concrete samples on‑site.

Key responsibilities

• Sample and test fresh concrete according to Australian standards at multiple construction sites each day.
• Collect concrete test samples (approximately 5 kg) from 3‑5 sites daily.
• Assist laboratory technicians and perform compression and other strength tests on cured specimens in the Skygate/Southport Laboratory.
• Accurately record test results in multi‑faceted systems and report to the Laboratory Supervisor.
• Work safely, both independently and as part of a shift pattern that includes 12‑hour day and night rotations.

Required profile

• Valid Australian driver’s licence.
• Previous qualification in laboratory techniques or a related field (highly regarded).
• Physically fit – able to carry 15 litres of concrete per test (trolleys provided).
• Pass a pre‑employment medical, including drug/alcohol testing.

Required skills

• Concrete sampling and testing in accordance with Australian Standards.
• Compression strength testing of cured concrete specimens.
• Use of laboratory testing equipment and data entry systems.
