Communications Officer (Design Support)

About the role

Alchemy Recruitment is partnering with a state government client to recruit a Communications Officer (Design Support) on a 6-month contract with possible extension, based in Nerang on the Gold Coast. The position is full-time with an immediate start and pays $62.90 per hour plus super.

Key responsibilities

• Design, lay out and produce branded collateral such as flyers, fact sheets, newsletters, infographics, project maps, reports and presentations.
• Provide administrative support for stakeholder engagement activities, including note taking, records management and database upkeep.
• Coordinate procurement of design products, services and imagery through established approval processes.
• Manage a high-volume shared workload across the region using project management tools.

Required profile

• Proven ability to produce quality work quickly in a high-volume, deadline-driven environment.
• Exceptional attention to detail across multiple projects.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Knowledge of state government processes and policies.
• Strong stakeholder relationship and written communication skills.
• Preferred: tertiary qualification in Graphic Design or a related field, or an equivalent combination of training and experience; ability to obtain a satisfactory criminal history check.

Required skills

• Experience with graphic design software, ideally Adobe Creative Suite.
• Project management tools.
