Clinical Nurse – Child and Youth Mental Health Service

About the role

Join Darling Downs Health as a Clinical Nurse in the Child and Youth Mental Health Service (CYMHS). You will provide community‑based mental health care to children, young people and families across the Toowoomba and Darling Downs region, working within a multidisciplinary team to improve wellbeing and create lasting outcomes.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver evidence‑informed assessments, care planning and therapeutic support to achieve improved mental health outcomes for young people.
• Build trusted partnerships with families, carers, schools and service providers to coordinate person‑centred care.
• Provide clinical leadership, mentoring and guidance to strengthen team capability and quality of care.
• Drive continuous improvement through safe practice, quality initiatives and effective use of clinical information systems.

Required profile

• Current registration as a Registered Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia.
• Experience in child, youth or mental health service delivery, including assessment, care coordination and case management.
• Strong communication, collaboration and relationship‑building skills across multidisciplinary and community settings.
• Ability to apply clinical reasoning, manage risk and deliver safe, high‑quality care in complex situations.
